Job Description:

 

Responsible for all aspects of personnel and information security, to include: physical, personnel, information, and technical security. Duties involve the management, supervision, or performance of work in developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures and methods used for safeguarding classified SCI information, property, and materials. Assists in development of and implements policies and procedures for the Task Force ACE/G2 for analyzing and evaluating the character, background and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites. Supervises the operation of the Special Security Office and administering the SCI security program to include SCI security oversight. Maintains applicable SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to adequately discharge SSO duties and responsibilities. Supervises the construction Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) to include accreditation, upgrades, and introduction of new equipment. Passes SCI access certifications. Conducts and manages SCI personnel, information, physical, and technical security (TEMPEST/ TSCM) actions and procedures according to DOD, NSA, CIA, regulations. Provides guidance and assistance for processing EPSQ, SCI position, and eligibility requests. Conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings; obtains signed Nondisclosure Agreements; and performs other related personnel security actions. Ensures each subordinate SSO or SSR conducts the self-inspection using an approved checklist. Investigates SCI security infractions, making recommendations and preparing required reports. Maintains listings of available SCI electrical and hard copy products, validates product requirements, and ensures dissemination to authorized users. Interfaces with SCI telecommunications centers, ADP facilities, computer centers, and similar offices to ensure SCI security. Provides privacy communications support to General rank officers and to other senior officials, as requested. Conducts a continuing SCI security education training and awareness program to ensure that all SCI indoctrinated individuals are kept apprised of the requirements and guidelines for protecting SCI. Ensures appropriate accreditation documentation is available for each SCIF and communications / automated information systems under the organization's security cognizance. Reviews all derogatory information from the local supporting military law enforcement agency involving SCI-indoctrinated personnel and takes appropriate action. Maintains continuing liaison with non-SCI security officials. Produces, reviews, and manages emergency plans for the SCIF. Constantly evaluate SCI risk and recommend appropriate countermeasures. Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) for operations involving the use or transport of classified and SCI material. Investigates or assists in the investigation of security violations and Practices Dangerous to Security (PDS) and advise the Task Force ACE Chief, DG2, and/or G2 on such investigations IAW DoD 5105.21-M-1.

 

Requirements for this position:

 

- Working knowledge of SCI requirements and security

 

- The Special Security Officer must have a working knowledge of Executive Order 12563.

 

- Knowledge of JDISS, JWICS, DMS, and AMHS automation systems and SIPR classified network.

 

- Familiarity with National, DIA, and Army SCI security regulatory requirements.

 

- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI Security Clearance Required.
