SAN DIEGO, CA (12 June 2023) In March 2023, ITC Defense was selected as one of America’s outstanding U.S. Navy Reserves’ Employers of 2023! This award was presented in recognition of ITC’s support to our “Citizen Sailors” and the nation’s defense.
To accept this award, ITC Defense President, Noelle Shema, attended the Navy Employee Recognition Event (NERE) in San Diego, California on 7 June 2023. The event included a variety of opportunities to learn about the Navy’s current capabilities and equipment, including a tour of CVN 70, the USS Carl Vinson. On board, Shema accepted the Outstanding Employer award on behalf of ITC Defense. ITC was one of thirty-five participating companies, others included Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, and NBC Universal. Guest speakers included Captain Erick Kenny, Executive Officer of the USS Carl Vinson, and Rear Admiral Grant Mager, Deputy Chief of the Navy Reserve. After a day of tours, displays, and demonstrations, the event concluded with a reception at the USS Midway Museum.
At NERE, ITC learned more about the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a sponsor of the event. ESGR is a Department of Defense Office that works to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve members and their civilian employers, in order to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s Reserve commitment.

“ITC greatly appreciated the opportunity to network with fellow Reservist employers and organizations such as the ESGR,” stated ITC President, Noelle Shema. “The opportunity to attend NERE and receive this recognition reminds us of the important role ITC plays in supporting those who serve our country. Thank you to the U.S. Navy Reserves for hosting this event as well as Meaghan Sandler for nominating ITC.”
